- Under the new launching of an ‘Incredible India’ wedding tourism campaign to showcase the country as a prime wedding destination, Uttarakhand is all set to cash in by pitching its ancient temples and picturesque hills.
- Chief Election Commissioner Rajiv Kumar on Saturday said; persons above 80 years and those with more than 40% disability will be able to cast their votes from home through postal ballot in the Assembly election in Chhattisgarh. For this, they have to fill up form 12D within five days of the notification of elections.

- On the nine years completion of PM Jan Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), It has crossed 50 crores with total deposits exceeding Rs 2,03,505 crore.
As of August 16, 50.09 crore PMJDY accounts had been opened with total deposits at Rs 2,03,505 crore.

NCCF and NAFED have been mandated to procure 1 lakh tonnes each directly from farmers at Rs 2,410 per quintal to avoid panic selling amid the imposition of an export curb.
