INDIA

  • Lieutenant-Go.vernor Vinai Kumar Saxena on Friday reviewed the preparations at the India International Convention and Expo Centre (IICC) in Dwarka and its vicinity for the ninth G-20 Parliamentary Speaker’s summit. Also known as the P-20 Summit

  • The Union Ministry’s recent communication to the governments of the two Telugu States, Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, brings to an end the stalemate prevailing over the division of assets pertaining to the SCCL between the two States.

The Union Ministry of Home Affairs has ruled that the Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) belongs to Telangana.


  • Rajasthan CM Ashok Gehlot on Friday announced the formation of three new districts – Malpura, Sujangarh and Kuchaman – ahead of the Assembly election, taking the total number of districts to 53.

The Congress government had created 19 new districts and three new divisions in August.


  • In what could be a huge relief to women employees working as Track Maintainers and Assistant Loco Pilots, the Ministry of Railways has planned to consider their application seeking change in job category.

  • The National Medical Commission (NMC) on Friday released its first publication, a booklet, titled “Professional Conduct Review – lesson from case archives” by Ethics and Medical Registration Board.

In the booklet, the Commission said that to become a “Good Doctor”, a Registered Medical Practitioner must deal with patients with compassion and empathy. It deals with the unique doctor-patient relationship through a series of nine cases and notes that the most common cause of complaints against doctors is due to a communication gap. It underlines that if there is a trust deficit, it will lead to litigation against the doctors.

  • Air India has opened a 54,000 sq. ft. mega warehouse facility at the Delhi airport with capacity to store more than a million engineering spare parts to ensure quick checks and repairs of its aircraft.

  • TVS Motor Co. Ltd. and BMW Motorrad announced the Joint production of electric 2-wheeler BMW CE 02 at Hosur for the global market.

  • Imprisoned Iranian activist Narges Mohammadi won the Nobel Peace Prize on Friday in recognition of her tireless campaigning for women’s rights and democracy and against the death penalty.
